Convert an AVI video to DV with FFmpeg

We're going to use FFmpeg to convert an AVI file (any format that FFmpeg can recognize) into a DV (for video editing for example).

It's fairly straightforward. For an NTSC DV file, do this:

ffmpeg -i video.avi -target ntsc-dv video.dv

And for a PAL DV file, do this:

ffmpeg -i video.avi -target pal-dv video.dv
